Audio Install (Bose)
Im picking up a Pioneer Avic-D3 and i was researching the install and it looks like i need to get an amp that runs 2ohms and a sub. I want to keep the bose speakers so will i need to run the cords from the headunit to the trunk and tap into the bose amp harness or run each speaker to the trunk individually?(i hope not)
Also if anyone has any cheap recommendations for an amp please post them and if there anyone with diy or experience doing this, please help lol
Have you read this DIY on the install?

and from what i read it looks like a need an amp that runs 2 ohms for the speakers (headunit is at 4)
If you're just replacing the HU you wont need to buy another amp, just get the wire harness and follow the DIY I posted. Only reason you'd get another amp is to add a sub or do full system not just to switch out HU.
and it looks like on the stock headunit and amp work together because of the fiber
How much did you get it for if you don't mind me asking....I'm curious hire much they go for these days

But I don't think I've seen him in here in a while....
If you swap out the speakers for non bose...your installation will be much easier. Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with the fiber optic wiring of bose to help much more.
Search for the aftermarket headunit thread...there should be some good info on there....including an old diy I wrote up for my avic d-3
good luck!
