Seat Noises

I am a big kid heavy and tall. My seats are often kicked pushed leaned on and opened and closed for rear entry. I am also really heavy. I Had a problem with the seat rocking back and forth and not being secure and it was fixed... A few months later (now) when ever i accelorate hard or corner hard my seat makes a noise. This noise is like a squeaky noise or something... There seems to be no irregualr motion and the 8 way seat works fine... Is there somehting that can be oiled or sometihng...

Has ne1 ever had this problem before.... if so what have they done to fix it?

my seats are squeaky, but they don't move at all. i'll tell you what causes my squeak, who knows if it's the same for you.

when you're sitting in the driver's seat, look down and to the left. see the big plastic cover to the left of the seat? it covers some stuff under the seat. anyway, it fits right up against the bottom/side of the seat and when i move the seat, it rubs against this plastic piece and squeaks. it doesn't really bother me at all, but it drives my wife nutz so i'll probably see what they can do about it when i take my car in for my first A service.

this may be what's squeaking in your car, but who knows.

Hey jasonrosen, one of my 19 issues with my car was also the squeeking driver seat. Its when u go over a bump, make a turn etc.... The problem is the plastic bracket thats supporting the seat is worn off or broken. The brakects and pins need to be replaced and lubed. Just be careful though because the dealer has to take the whole seat out and they scratched the door on the inside while doing this so they have to replace another part. Now i dont have any more sqeeking at all. below are the 3 part numbers used to fix my issue

1) 001- 989-50-51

2)203-912-00-41

3)203-918-00-14

hope this helps u, good luck

i'm NOT being mean or anything. but when you say heavy do you mean fat? if yes, then try losing weight. you help decrease chance of heart disease, diabetes and other ailments. also, you get more chicks.

hmm, that's not my problem cause when i hold the plastic piece (the one i described above) away from the seat with my fingers, it doesn't squeak. it's just the rubbing that's causing the squeaking, not anything broken.

Light people cause Squeaks as well

Hey... this seat squeak issue is not limited to those with stockier frames. I cart around 95 lbs friends and the squeaking is just as persistant. Thanx for the tips.. will bring this up at my B level appointment

my seat squeaks were fix by felt being applied to the trim pieces. this was done by the dealer after i complained about the noises.
