the only that I dislike abt my w203 is the frosty foglights when mostly every other company had clear headlight/foglights, but that can be replaced

the only other benz I am unimpressed abt is my ML... so many problems

the only issue on the E class was the navigation was not correct, was replaced, but still off.

the S class, ask my dad

Dude, it's a Mercedes, expect it to break. I dont think my car is ever perfect, but I would much rather take my car back to MBZ for warranty work than bring my Z for warranty work. At Mercedes, they just replace everything. At Nissan, you better destory the damage part before you take it in. Of course you have to take it up the rear if your car isnt in warranty. And yes, I was stupid enough to pay more for my Nissan than Benz argggggg.

although i read about some reliability issues with the C, i didn't let that stop me from getting it. i really leased this car purely for it's looks. so far, (knock on wood), i have almost 14k miles and not one issue other than my indicator telling me a taillight is out. many people told me to stay away from BMW when i was about to order my 330 coupe, but i went with it anyway and in the 48k miles i had it for, it's been the most flawless car i've ever owned. literally not one single problem or issue. brought it to the dealer twice for oil changes and that's all that was ever done to it. i had some engine, suspension and audio/visual mods in her as well. had great luck with 2 previous maxima's other than 1 minor thing, but nothing worth ever really speaking about again. my 99' infiniti I30t however, the worst car i've ever owned which surprised me since it was the maxima dressed in a tuxedo. brought it to the dealer 3 times in the first month i had it and probably around a dozen times over the 15 months i owned it before finally dumping it. but i believe that every once in awhile, you might just get a car that gives you headaches. just one of the many stresses of life

My car went in on 12/22, and I just picked it up today. (At least I had a good loaner - a brand new 2006 c280 with only 100 miles on it. Ahhh, love that new car smell.) Anyway, I got a new tranny and had it disinfected again. It was covered under the extended warranty, and the price shown for the tranny was $3761 including labor. They put a 12 inch mar on one of the doors and I have to go back (yet again) to have it buffed out. Arrgh.

What's next?

The Merecdes is definitely nice and the dealer are usually good at replacing things, but I dont think my car is ever 100% perfect. Currently, the car has a broke trunk light, inter. working rear lights and a disable lighter. (some of the problems contribute to a bad bodyshop I went to) The car was just in for service for other things 3000 miles ago, but its not bad consider it is under warranty. I tell my gf that it is part of the oil change, luckily for loaners too.

2002 C320 Wagon
C problems continued...

I own a 2002 C320 wagon w/about 43k miles.
So far, I love the car but I have just started to have issues w/it such as:

* power seat module - replaced but still screwing up
* power mirrors memory
* rattling/vibrating hatchback
* clunking suspension
* electrical motor running sound, coming from the area of the sunroof controls, even after 1 hour or more w/car off and no key in.

Have any of you experienced these issues? If so, please let me know what you think the best way to handle them/remedy the condition. I have a service appt. w/dealer next week. Its his $, so please send advice.
Alan

Here is my list of issues with my C230K

Sunroof has gone out, three times. FJ mercedes has fixed the tracks, and the motor. It is out again right now.

Power Seat on Driver side has gone out twice. Replaced both times.

Dash lost the upper half of the pixels in hot weather. Dealer replaced the LED screen, but they used a different version.

Previously I had two bubbling problems with the back right tire while on Bridgestone Potenzas, but now that I am on Toyo TR-1, no prob.

One with 4 wheels
Probs

I've had my 06 C230 SS for 5 months.....6k miles.

Problems:

1.) Drivers side seat has a stupid "creak" to it since day 1. And since the creak is where your back rests, everytime the car moves, you hear it. It's freaking annoying as ****, and I'm a little disappointed in this kind of petty problem in a $37k car. I'm not sure about going to the dealer yet, seeing how all they're going to do is take the seat out and (maybe) replace it with a new one, which might also take forever to get done.

2.) MB-Alpine 6-Disc CD changer in glovebox works most of the time, but sometimes, when it doesn't feel like it, it decides to go on an overnight vacation.

I used to have a 2001 Accord EX-V6 and up until the day it was rear-ended and turned into a crumpled soda can, it never gave me a single problem......

My other choice was the 06 BMW 330i.....but I can't stand the way it looks!

You've had this car five months and 6000 miles and this is all that's given trouble? I'd say, then, that MB is getting a handle on their defective cars because my '01 C320's list of warranty repairs is, lets say, a bit longer.

The seat creak is most likely two pieces of plastic contacting and replacing one or both of them will solve the problem, just as it did in my car when new. The CD problem is a warranty issue and will be solved.

Your refusal to take the car back for repairs is quite puzzling.

There's a small fan in there that keeps running even after the key is removed.

mercedes c class avantagarde se (sport pack)
ive had a few problems in the last six months.. but all corrected by the dealer. i expected a few items to play up do the the options i had, but in all im happy with the car.

ive had a lexus, picked the car up new, and by the time i got home the cd changer and navigation wasnt working, never buy one again as the dealer took ages to repair the fault.

Most importantly if your dealers good the experience with the car is alot better.

Car Problems

I too own a 2001 C320 and I have a few problems now but this is to be expected I brought it used, (Things break and we fix them no matter who makes them they will break trust that, no matter what we pay or what we want to believe if they make it it will break!) I/We also own a Bmw and 2 lexus which also have had a few issues and now there fixed, we've owned several other luxury car's even middle level Honda's and Toyoto's and we've had problem's with them all some little some big, in light of your situation I would wish you all the luck in the world with your new purchase and or search for that illussive perfect vechical, but please understand this their is no guarentee your next car will be problem free.
Goodluck in your ventures and I'm sorry your not happy with your current purchase.

2002 C320
I have an 02 C320 with a few problems. The back right window rolled up to the top and then came back down a few inches ($250 fix/worth it ?). The rear sun shade gets jammed in and only works if its not completely in the slot. The biggest problem is the random Light Sensor Malfunction that drains the battery. That crap happens about once a week. RELIABLE and tried to fix it but couldnt find the problem. Another issue is the auto-tranny. Is it just my car or do all 02 C320 miss shift (yes automatic). It hits the redline, I feel a little bouncing, and then it hits the next gear. That happens 9/10 times on shifts from 1st to 2nd.

Can't these old threads just be deleted therefore elminating the bumping up effect of C230_617, etc? (Yes, MB_BOB, this one's for you - for the ones he actually starts)

Car: 2003 C320
Problems(Resolved Yes or No):
- sunroof not closing (yes, by resynching the sunroof)
- reverse assisted passenger rear view mirror going down doesn't come back up when going to drive (no, it goes back half way and doesn't correct itself when using the memory feature)
- passenger electric seats do not move (not really, had the chair changed 2-3 times, still has problems from time to time, can be resolved by unplugging and replugging the plug closest to the driver on the bottom)
- squeaky driver seat (no, replaced the seat and still squeaks!)

2001 C 320 (sold) 2002 Infiniti I35 (currently drive) 2004 BMW 330ci convertible (summer car)
2001 c320, lemon or not? If I squeezed the car i'd have fresh lemonaid all day long

actually sold the car already, there were a lot of problems mechanically with the car and the warranty was up so i sold it, i drive an infiniti now, and the bmw 330ci, the benz was a nice car but honestly the infiniti has been a lot more reliable, i might buy another mercedes down the line, something bigger than a C class tho, it also bummed me out that the benz couldn't fit 20" rims without doing major mods to the body and suspension, and one time i hit the window button on my drivers side and the switch completley broke off, i couldn't believe that happened in a mercedes, then one more misfortune, a dangerous one quite frankly, I was driving in the winter time, ice and snow on the roads, and the power steering goes out while i'm on the road, i literally had to use all my might just to turn the steering wheel to turn around a corner, it was in the shop for about a week after that because they had to order a part from germany, and they refused to give me a loaner car because I am not 21 years old, only 20, and the car is in my name, I paid for it myself, and this was at a high end well known Mercedes/BMW dealership (http://www.knauz.com), Infiniti has giving me loaner cars (2006 G35x) no questions asked and were much more polite, and have the same services as benz (roadside assistance 24/7, excellent warranty, etc), so i just decided to keep the Infiniti I35 and sell the mercedes, plus I get 255HP with the infiniti as opposed to the 215 of the C 320, the only thing i miss about the benz is rear wheel drive, much more fun to drive in my opinion, well, that's pretty much all of my experience, looks can be deceiving, it might look like gold on the outside, but on the inside it's a different picture.

You might not have had any problems with your car and think Mercedes makes the best cars. The common conception of Mercedes is that its a high quality car that doesnt have many problems. Its also an expensive car and the assumption is that if you spend more money on a product instead of less money on a cheaper product it will last longer. In my case Iv spent more money and had more problems out of my car than the car I sold to get the benz.
Don't sweat it. We're in a Mercedes forum. Just like the BMW, Audi and Acura forums, some members are overly protective of their car and brand. I love my car, but to say my C32 or any other MB is the cats ***...I would have to be in complete denial.

Your car is older and most likely used so you should expect some problems.
