2001 w203 C180

Loss of idle

Hi Guys

This problem just started about a month ago..

When driving and if i happen to come to a stop street etc, the idle drops and then suddenly picks up again.

My idle normally sits just below 100 rpm but when i'm at a stop street, etc it drops to just below 50rpm and suddenly picks up again.

What could be causing this?

There is no engine warning light etc.

I drive a 2001 C80 (non kompressor)

Do you mean 1000 RPM or really 100 rpm? That is low.

My idle is 600 rpm's at a red light.

If it were at 100rpm it would have already stalled. He has to mean 1000. My car's always done this from time to time.

Really? It only does it the first time i start the car.. around 1k then slowly dips to 600.

I'm still on my rpm going +-50, weird thing now it doesn't do it while i'm in Tiptronic..

Very weird...

I put the car up for sale for fun... I think i'm gonna keep it until something major comes up...

i.e. 2k+ repair

have you checked hoses for a vacuum leak?

Thanks guys for the responses. I could be wrong about the rpm, i.e. 100rpm.

I have not checked the vacuum hoses as yet. Will take it to have it checked out.
