Angry Pagids Suck!!!

Well my Pagids officially SUCK. I swear they give off more dust than the stock OEM pads. So frustrating because I didn't even need new pads, I just replaced them so I could have less dust.
I'm pissed.

Do the other people that have them use a different pad from Pagid. Maybe you can all share the part numbers and see who has what. It could be they make a racing pad or something that dusts less and a regular OEM replacement. Also it maybe that the pads need to break in. I know my Porterfields dust less now than when new.

My pagid dust a little bit less, although very very little. But they are definitely quieter than stock!

Didn't we bought the pads from the same source? I wonder what makes the difference...

I recently replaced my front pads and I am pretty sure it said Pagid on them (I got them at an MB parts dept.) maybe you got the wrong PN from Pagid.

Good luck.

Thumbs down yep

We both bought from buymbparts.com. And we bought our like the same week. I am wondering, did yours dust a lot at first? I've only been driving the car with these brakes since thursday- less than a week. I will check the box later for a part number or something. For now I am pissed though, I knew I should have bought the Porterfields from the beginning.

Well... the Pagids do obviously dust but I already forgot how much the stocks dust so I couldn't perfectly compare. But I like the Pagids quietness as the stock ones squealed on every breaking so I tend to believe the Pagids dust a little less as well. :p :o

Next year I'm gonna change to Poterfield anyway.

I was at a tech session this weekend and the mechanic from the (non dealer) shop told me about new pads from Raybestos (SP?). These are ceramic based. Lower rotor wear, low/no noise, low dust - and the dust is light gray/white.

Sound like a winner!

Anyone have any more info?

Raybestos...

I believe Pep Boys carries Raybestos ceramic pads but I don't know if they carry pads for MB. I bought some for my son's Malibu and they are great. Bought some hardened rotors there as well. The combination is quiet, clean, exhibiting low wear, and stop smooth and well (and you can't beat the price or lifetime pad warranty!). I have Porterfields on the front now but will check out Pep Boys when the time comes...thought I'd never say that! If anyone knows other sources for ceramic pads for the W203 please share.

hmmm

you think anyone would be interested in buying my pads.. it basically seems like they are just reg. stock pads. I just put the c32 double spoke wheels on my coupe and wanted the low dust to go with it. But having these stock pads is pointless. I would love to sell them, I've only used them for 4 days. You think I have any chance of selling?

Do you think they would sell after you told everyone they suck?

no honestly, they are good pads, its just that they dust and the only reason i got new pads was because i wanted less dust on my hot new wheels.
