Fuel Gauge Inaccurate
Hi All,
I've got a 02 C200 Kompressor Elegance Auto 1.8S and the fuel gauge seems to be very inaccurate, if its got 20 litres left in the tank, it'll say that its dry, and when you re-fill, it will register only at 3/4.
Anyone ever come across this issue before?
I've tried searching but with no luck.
I'm really thinking that its the fuel sender. Can you access the fuel sender from under the rear passenger seat? Or does the whole tank have to be dropped?
Also, does anyone have a copy of the workshop manual for my car that they can link me to?

AFAIK, W203s are known to have fuel sender issues. I know that I have had to remove my key before a fill-up to get it to read full when restarted for about the past 7 years. However, it has not gotten at the stage that yours has. I would assume that it has to be completely replaced at this point. But I've been wrong before.
I was wrong once in the late 80s.
My car's fuel gauge after a fill-up from dead empty goes very quickly to 3/4 of a tank then slows down for the remainder of the way to full. Not too slow, but still it is different.
