Fuel consumption in a C240 2001
hi
i have a problem with my petrol C240, it does a few Km/L
something like it burn almost 16L for each 100km if i calculate it, however on the instrument cluster it show 11 L/100 KM
also you can smell the unburden fuel coming from the exhaust
I'm living the Gulf, and i don't have a "check engine light"
and fortunately they don't test the cars emissions
i had the Car tested by a garage , it shows that the MAF is giving a lower reading by almost 30% than what it should give,
and they advice me to get a new MAF
my question is
1- shouldn't the reading on the instrument cluster be accurate and give the right value
2- i still think that if the MAF is giving a lower reading value, that it should lead to a lower fuel consumption
anybody have an idea whats going on ?!
