Oil Level sensor

I have a question regarding the oil sensor on for a 2004 C240. I have heard that some Benz engines have sensors that monitor the quality of the oil and when it senses the quality level gets to a certain point, it lets you know schedule A or B is needed. Does this engine have this type of sensor, or does it just monitor the level of the oil? I bought my car with 69,000 and it has 74,000 miles on it and I know the dealer that I bought it from changed the oil during their prep of the car for sale, and my schedule A has come up. One thing that concerns me, is looking at the paperwork they gave me, it shows they put 5w oil in the car, its either 5w 30 or 5w 40, I don't have the paperwork in front of me right now, I think its 5w30,and I know the standard oil for the car is 0w oil.

Thanks.

Sensors on a 2004 C240 do not monitor oil quality. There are some approved 5W-30 & 5W-40 oils on the listing. You need to find out exactly what oil is in there for us to check.

He's not in the Arctic. 5W is fine. Just ensure it's approved

at the doomsday attitude of some people.

Find out if it is 229.5 approved. That's the important thing. NOT 229.51 like some dealers use.
