aftermarket or lemfoerder
i bought a pair of lower control arms for 60ea....at fcpeuro.com
why would companies sell them if they are garbage
has anyone installed aftermarket suspension parts and they worked fine?
can just about any repair shop replace them?

I bought some suspension parts by Hamburg Technics from FCP. Several of the ball joints were bad before I put them on the car. Chinese cr*p with a German name. I would stay with OEM and/or Lemforder.

I forget which brand I went with, but I replaced all 4 upper and lower control arms in front. It may very well have been Lemforder. The lower arms(thrust arm?) black in color looked okay. I decided to replace all 4 since I was down there anyway and i didn't want any adverse changes in suspension geometry under load.
There were various amounts of play in the balljoints. I believe the lower control arms I purchased marked L or R were stamped wrong. Lower arms have a pronounced arc which is obviously directional
The replacement lower arms when matched to originals on vehicle were opposite the directional stampings. So the left side of a the car has an arm marked 'R' and vice versa.
I didn't mention it, but no issue came up during alignment at the Mercedes only indy shop.
