HELP ME PLEASE – POURED PETROL IN DIESEL ENGINE… I CANT SLEEP!!!!
Dealers arent out to "scam you" there doing what MB corp requires and we arent a free service and advice center, and we arent there to rip you off, the prices are the prices, they may be higher prices but that pays for all the fancy "dealer only" equipment and training that non MB dealer techs and places dont have.
Weather he brought it to a dealer or mechanic, telling the lie about not starting it would have had the same end result, which is where he is. SO I just am saying fibbing about thing, If you go to a good indie or MB, you can get the car fixed right if you tell em what you did.
Any yes it is a big deal when you run gas through a diesel I know since I DO work at a dealer what it does to a car.
Good luck getting it fixed, I still reccomend that you bring it to some one and bite the bullet on getting it fixed by a pro, if you didnt notice the diff in the gas nozzle colors and the fact that you put gas in a diesel then I wouldnt think guiding you to try to repair a complex car such as a MB at 22 is a good idea. Of course I live in sue happy america where thats why no one gives people advice on car repair because they will sue you if your wrong when your trying to be nice. Hope the UK or where your at is better.

Good dealers do give plently of free advice to their customers. My dealer that I buy my cars from considers that I own a couple of bricks in the building.

My 220CDI does not respond quickly when moving off from the lights.Being an old fart I just idle off & it very smoothly accelerates.
If however the throttle is pushed down quickly there is a very noticeable lag time before the inevitable 400 Nm surge.I think this is because of the electronic throttle ,auto gearbox & turbo lag.
If the car is driven smoothly with anticipation all is well .
So my question is , were you driving the car long enough before the refueling incident to notice how it drove normally?
Good luck tomorrow.
I've been in Blue Efficiency cars that actually stumble coming off idle. If injectors are fine then a simple ECU reflash fixed the problem by increasing fueling at that point. This sounds horribly like what the OP is experiencing.
ECU Tuners in Europe have had a field day but Benz knows equally well how to eliminate the problem albeit with a slight increase in fuel consumption.

Adidas, talking down on the kid wont help him fix anything.
My C200 CDI lags too on acceleration from stand still.
Never bothered me ... well ... except once when I really needed to get somewhere quickly.
Diesels are known laggers but not as GC1985 describes.
Stalling on acceleration is NEVER a normal behavior and needs to be checked by a competent mechanic and not ripoffs and gold diggers.
GC1985, wish I could help you more ...
I will tell you this, more important than knowing your car to the nuts and bolts is having a reliable mechanic (That I learned and glad I have a good mechanic for my Benz).

I just don't want him to spend a fortune chasing a stumble that can be simply fixed by an ECU reflash. If it was a C250 CDi Blue Efficiency that is the first thing I would do. But it is a C220.
EDIT - to me there is a distinct difference between lag & a stumble or flat spot. But we can get caught up in semantics.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
His first mistake was towing it to a Mercedes dealer. I see they are the same all over the world - as in truly idiotic-levels of absolute ridiculousness. I know you must have recently went to work for one and have a sudden need to defend all things dealer.. but the truth of the matter is that dealers take advantage of people. Someone knowledgeable is their worst enemy.
You're just trying to scare the kid, and that's uncalled for.
Never go to stealership, atleast find a indy shop to save a few bucks.

You knew you shouldn't start the car, but you let some ******** get to you.
A lesson learned.
Well, hopefully it will all work out.

$1700 alternator replacements, that I did myself in an hour + the price of a rebuilt alternator.
Or the guy who dropped his car off Sat. afternoon, picked it up
Mon. morn, and got billed for something like 20-30 hours, when the dealer was only open a few hours between now and then.
Kid, yer right to not trust the *******s,
and Adidasc230, if you trust your stealer well, good luck.
