2007 C280 Wipers won't park
Last night as I was driving home in the rain I shut the wipers off and they parked in the 2:00 position across the windshield. I turned them on and off a few times and they slowly changed their "parked" position from 2:00 to finally settling on the 12:00 position (now they are vertical).
If I get out of the car I can pull the right wiper and they will both settle back to the horizontal position but as soon as I get back in the car and start to drive they will move back to the horizontal position (with the wipers in the "off" position).
Any ideas?

Sounds like the crank arm is loose on the motor shaft. It could also be the park section in the motor but I would somehow doubt it.

I will check that. It seems weird that they seem to function perfectly though other than the park feature.
I will give it a whirl this weekend tho.
The motor is accessible for under the hood near the windshield I assume?

Well I was unable to get the guard off but I was able to bend it upward enough to stick my hands in there (barely).
The arm on the motor was at the 9:00 position and the nut seemed a little loose. I just barely got my wrench on it and rotated the arm to the 3:00 position and cinched the nut down.
Perfect! All is back in working order now!

I seem to be having the same problem as jspbtown on my '05 C230. The wipers work fine but they park right in my line of vision (about 2:00 when looking from the front of the car). I got the passenger side wiper off (the driver's side one wouldn't come off). I got under the guard/tray/cover/whatever and everything seemed tight. There only appeared to be two nuts. I think one was on the wiper motor shaft and one was on an aluminum casting toward the passenger side. Everything else seemed to be captive ball joints and all of them seemed tight to my fingers. I pushed a little on the nut on the motor shaft to make sure it was tight. The one on the casting seemed tight to my fingers and didn't seem to do with any of the movement of the wipers so I was satisfied with it.
For some reason, with the wipers off, they wouldn't turn on. The fuses looked good so I put it all back together.
When I started up the car, the wipers went back in the wrong park position (2:00) but otherwise, they worked as they should so I'm back where I started.
Did I miss something? Does anybody have any suggestions? I'm guessing that I shouldn't try changing the park position by changing the orientation of the wiper motor arm. That seems like what jspbtown did, but then his seemed to be loose. Also, I'm wondering if I should put a small bead of silicone at the bottom of the windshield to stick the guard/tray/cover/whatever to the windshield.
