brake question

so i need new front brakes and i went onto rmeuropean.com to pick some up but they have 2 different kinds, 1 for cars with the sport and 1 for regular. my car is an 03 c230 and according to a member here who ran my vmi my car is a sport/aventgarde package but the rotors on my car right now arent drilled (the sports on rmeuro are) so which do i pick up? thanks

a quarter mile at a time
AFAIK, all 03's have the regular, non-sport brakes.

2003 models had the standard sliding caliper & non drilled discs. This is ROW information Then the US had a thing called the 2004.5 which was a sort of hybrid. US only got the full facelift in 2005. ROW & SA got the full facelift in March 2004. Sport Pack in ROW as of March 2004 had the larger Brembo drilled rotors/discs & the fancy calipers with "Mercedes Benz" on them. Your car sounds as though it was pre brake upgrade but you had better have a very close look at P/N's.

I'm looking at replacing brakes (and calipers) front and back on my C320 Sport Coupe. What are the differences between the stock brakes I have and the C32 for 2003? Am i correct in thinking I have the 300mm front 290mm rear rotors on a C320SC? I have the 17" Evolution wheels if that helps. TIA

Can you post a photo? The C320 coupe from 2003 should have standard, single piston sliding calipers and non-drilled rotors. The C32 had four-piston fixed calipers made by Brembo, and large cross-drilled rotors.

So, here's what I have on the car. I think they are the reg 300mm sliding front and 290mm single piston rear. (excuse the rust, haven't had the car out for a couple of weeks.)

So, would the C32 calipers with some non-oem 345mm front and 300mm rear rotors be a good bang for buck replacement? The C32 calipers are 4 piston front and 2 rear iirc? TIA

you can either go with C32 brake setup, or if you want to save some $$$ you can always look into the 05+ C230 (2 piston) or the C350 sport calipers, the C350 have 4 piston if I recall correctly.

Are the 03 C32 rear calipers the same as what I have? I see some places seem to sell the same calipers for all 03 models. Confusing... Are the 05+ C350s a direct bolt on? TIA
