Alloy Rims magnesium Repair Kit

Hi, I scraped my OE W203 rims.
Looking for a "cheap" solution to fix them myself, and not pay about $200 per wheel..

Are there good rims repair kits out there?

Thank you

I'm sure there are lots of wheel refinishing places in Atlanta. Depending on how bad you scraped it, it should be pretty inexpensive. If you have the inclination, you can do it yourself. See this post: https://mbworld.org/forums/detailing...-painting.html.

Good luck!

The cheapest I found was $80 per wheel.
So did you try the Wurth and you're happy?

Thank you

I haven't tried it yet. I scuffed up a wheel on my car and looked into it, but I would have wanted to take the tire off the wheel and do it right (thought that's not actually necessary usually) and it wasn't that bad so I'm holding off. There are others who used the Wurth paint and they were happy with it. Here's a search that might help: https://mbworld.org/forums/search.php?searchid=8389283. I also found this link that has the paint I would probably use since they mention Mercedes as an application: and they also sell a high build primer: http://www.goodspeedmotoring.com/whe...wheel-paint-1/.

It sounds like normal body working stuff - nothing too complicated. You should be able to get the sandpaper, etc. at any auto parts store. I think $80 is pretty tempting, though.

On looking at your Amazon link, it mentions Mercedes. Don't know why they used Wurth Cleansolv and clear lacquer but not their paint. I don't know anything about Einszett. I have no reason to think it isn't good but I think I would go with Wurth all the way around - it seems to be universally respected.

Did you see this post: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...rt-wheels.html and this one: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...rim-color.html. It seems that the silver color may be a little different from year to year... Which wheels do you have?

bound to happend. Just get used to it and consider the marked wheel or another other marks or ding your "my car", makes it your car and can't be compared to others.

I'm not sure where in the Metro area you are, but I have used Metro Wheels in Cobb County a couple of times over the years and been very happy with the results. They can do the light repairs as well as fix more significant damage and completely refinish.

2003 C320
I'm new here but wanted to chime in. I recently purchased a C320 for my daughter and the wheels were scratched. I ordered the repair kit from Wurth and tried it on one wheel. The repairs seem simple until you try to blend your repair into the existing finish. I found it nearly impossible to achieve. The color was an exact match I thought. I decided to take the car to a professional to get it done right. I was also concerned that the bondo would come out when tires were changed in the future. Unless its really a small area I would not suggest trying it. Good luck.
