Great - I have copied him already. There must have been a problem with the Tirerack site the other night. We both went in from our respective ends & got a tick against Michelin but no stock & no other brands with a tick in their blocks - weird & thank you. He said he had checked Discount Tyres & a few others. Website or finger trouble. I think finger trouble! Thanks

Michelin does make. Our Austrian built ML's to SA come fitted with them in 19", 20" & 21". But as you say they are not on the website. Maybe they are only being supplied OE at the moment

Namely: 255/50 R19 tyres standard to optional 10-spoke two-tone design with 265/45 R20 tyres and optional AMG 5-spoke design in high-sheen finish with 265/40 R21 tyres. A friends Q7 came with them too but when he wanted tyres a few weeks back for the holiday season, Michelin SA had no stock & he had to fit Conti's.

One good thing: Your friend is in Dallas. A rather large place. A lot of M-B ML trucks in Dallas. Methinks the auto-tire companies are playing fast and loose with odd tire sizes in an attempt to retain you as a customer.
Austria bulds the ML too? I learn something new everyday. I thougt Tuscaloosa was the only factory.
Cheers!

Austria started as the diesel plant as the majority of European ML's are diesel. They now built petrol & diesel as does Tuscaloosa. SA used to get it's petrol models from Tuscaloosa but the customer complaints were so high they switched to Austria for all supply. These vehicles are over double the US price here & customers demand impeccable finish & reliability.
