With the loss of radio reception and loss of range on my remote control, I brought my car in for service. The fuse to the RF amplifier kept blowing, so it must of been grounding out somewhere. Well the service dept, informs me that they have to replace my back window because thats where the antenna problem is at.

I can't believe this. My car is 2 months old. what a major HEADACHE! I know **** happens, but come on Mercedes, what a faulty design.

I hate leaving my car at service. I am totally bummed. my previous 99 clk430 never had problems. This C32 has a electronic gremlins waiting to cause problems. From power seats not moving, on the 2nd day I took delivery, to now having to change my back windshield antenna....

oh yeah, my loaner is a lousy jetta!

well the back window was replaced. still no radio reception
Now the service department is telling me that "maybe" its my comand system. how does that explain the loss of remote control distance?

My car has been at the shop for 4 days now. They broke the back window trying to take it out. So now I have glass dust and a few minor scratches on the car. My interior headliner was completely removed as well as interior panels trying to get at the comand system. So what if its not the comand? Are they going to replace my antenna in the rear window again?

The car has got 2k miles on it, and DFC is telling me I should beat the **** out of it and trade it in. Why would I do that? I think that is a little extreme.

This will be my last Mercedes.

Don't let a bad service department sour you. Let MBUSA know how dissatisfied you are and see what they can do for you. I have had some really bad service experiences in Canada and some really good ones. Unfortunately the bad service tends to cloud your judgement of the vehicle when it should really reflect upon your feelings for the dealer. If possible take your service to another dealer. He will try to earn your respect so that he can be the next dealer you purchase from. Eventually the worst dealers will go under due to bad reputations.
