Wow, you lucked out. No oil in the TCU !! Woopeee! Happy days.
I bet you were really happy when you saw that after seeing the mess in the floor pan.
Like you say, you dodged the bullet.
According to my local MB guy, MB raised the prices on stuff, and where a TCU used to be 200-300 I think he said they were going to like 500-600.
And it's just one chip that goes bad, but it's surface mount and requires special equipment to replace the chip.
That didn't stop one rather enterprising individual on this forum from
uh I forget if it was Greece, or some former USSR county, and he hand soldered it.
Well, nothing to lose I guess, and he did it successfully.
