Best Rotors for Akebono and Pagid Brake Pads

Good afternoon,

My '02 C230k is currently in need of new front brake rotors and pads. I currently have have Napa brand rotors and Pagid pads. They've worked well for a while, but I'm tired of the brake dust coating my rims.

I'm looking into either Akebono brake pads or sticking with the Pagid brake pads, but not sure what the best rotors would be to use with those brake pads. Is Akebono or Pagid better than the other?

What rotors would work best with Akebono brake pads, and which rotors would work best with Pagid brake pads? Or would whichever rotor work best with both Akebono and Pagid brake pads?

Thanks,
Sharlene

get the Akebono pads you are going to love them. I went with Centric rotors which work really well with the pads

All rotors would work fine. The pad is the important variable. If you want to pay a big more for questionably a possible longer life, cryo-treated rotors may be worth it.

Tirerack now has centric pads & rotors, btw. The Akebonos are very good for minimal dust.

Nothing wrong with stock rotors either.

C320
I love my Akebono brake pads, I have them on 3 vehicles. C320, R350 and Jag XJ8. 5/6 axles. All but the rear of the 350 coz I couldn't find the Akebono for the rear. Rear is EBC ceramic no dust $120 pads so not cheap. However the EBC produce a ton of dust. I was so upset I felt like ripping them out and buying cheap metallic coz they would probably have less dust. Beware!!!

In any case I think Akebono pads rock and have 5 dust free axles as a testament. They will always be my first choice. I will stay clear of EBC. IMHO they are messy.

All cars have adequate stopping power. Perfect for me.

One personal opinion from a single user in a wide universe of drivers. Results may vary.
