My this is presumptuous. I will be extremely shocked if he does not report back that the dealer did not know what he was talking about. My dealer would almost certainly tell me only the V6 models had TCUs.

Thanks Glyn and sorry for all the questions about this but I just wanna learn more about this transmission situation and get it fix ASAP cause my lease is coming to an end in couple months.
about the halt on 2nd gear... hmmm this is something i had to get fixed when i was getting tuned. for some reason my car would just die on me while driving hard and go into some kind of "safety mode" is this what you guys are talking about?

i had my transmission services by a shop that specializes in German cars and this is the noise my car would make at redline when driven hard the rpm would suddenly drop and the car would go in ti limp mode. I have gone to mercedes and they told me that my transmission was missing about quarter of oil and most likely caused this noise when the torque converter started sucking in the oil. skip video to 3:20 for the sound

I just got a CLK500 with 56k miles--could not find anywhere in the VMI showing the trans service had been done. Should I be in panic mode to get it done? Tranny bucks a bit between 1st and 2nd when cold and in S mode, but nothing crazy.

I'm a tad confused... bought a used C300 4Matic 2010 from a Mercedes dealer here in Canada. Car now as roughly 120000km now. The transmission job (whatever that means) was done prior to me getting it. Should I still get the oil change? If so, where indi garage or dealer?

Thx

I'd say if you are not sure if/when it's been done, have an indy do it at this time.
