hey all
i am new to this forum so bear with me please-
i am interested in a w203 model C270CDI
and i have been told it is unavailable in the states- i drove one in Germany last october and i really liked it- is there anyway to get one over here in USA? what about importation as a private citizen? i hear it is expensive--- also would that diesel engine run on the available diesel here in the northwest? i know that mb is bringing a diesel over in the e class for 2004- is this a similar engine? cdi?

i'm interested in the c30 cdi amg sedan, but that isn't going to happen soon enough. other members and i discussed this in a thread, but i can't find it. basically, other than all the expenses of importing, i think there was something discussed about how diesel fuel here is different than european fuel and therefore, the car won't work here. don't now if this is only for the c30 cdi, or all cdi models.

the sulfur content in the diesel fuel here is too high. whereas in europe, diesel has a sulfur content of 30ppm, in the US it is 500ppm. wait 3 more years til the new diesel regs take effect, and then it might be possible to get a cdi.
