Getting rid of the coupe

What's up guys, sadly to say i am planning on getting rid of the c230 coupe.
I am looking for something newer.

I went to a bmw dealership to look at some 328is today and they appraised my car, autotrader appraised it at 2.3k while the dealer gave me 3.2k, what a load of bs.

I would rather keep it then trade it in for 3 grand.

So my question now is, i am trying to get something and my budget is around 25k, do you guys have any recommendations ?

Do you want to trade any parts out? As in my old parts, for your good condition parts and some cash?

If so, what color is your interior?

I'm in the same spot, as much as I love my C230, its 10yrs old, 200K kms, looking dated (worn interior, needs a repaint, ...), driving dated (needs bushings on all corners, ...), and is starting to cost me more time for DIY maintenance than I want to spend.

I figure it'd cost $3K to repaint the front end, change all the bushings, and update the worn interior pieces. The car is only worth $6K to sell privately with 200K kms, so I'd rather spend the money on a new ride.

I've been looking at 2005-6 M3 verts as a replacement. They are $25-30K with ~75K kms, and require little maintenance for 50K kms if Inspection 2 has been done.

Sadly if you want new, a well appointed Korean car, or a FIAT ABARTH is all 25 grand buys new these days.
Perhaps consider a lease, keep the coupe, since it's essentially worthless, and
drive it when you are in danger of going over the alllowed mileage.

i know man, i was looking at the hyundai genesis, brand new is like 26, what do you guys think ?

The way i see it is, i rather get something brand new with 0 miles and pay 350-400 a month then buy a used European car with like 60k miles.

The hyundai Genesis is a very nice vehicle. My first question would be what are you looking for in a car?

I want something that is reliable but offers luxury and performance. I really don't want to mod the car, i would like something that is respectable stock.

I am looking at this car ( i know it's automatic but it has shift pedals haha )

But its 60k miles, i mean how long before i have to shell out money for fixes, especially when European models are the most expensive to fix.

I know 05 - 07 Audi S4s are going for 20-25k with 30-50k miles... Or the new VW CCs are really nice.

Since it looks like you are also considering use, then why not a W204? 25-30K will get you a very nice CPO C350. Yeah, not a manual, but neither is the BMW you posted.

imo IS350 is better than the 328i. more reliable and cheaper to maintain in the long run.

+1, japanese all around are way more reliable and are very nice cars to drive around in. Don't get me wrong, I love my benz but damn are parts expensive as eff. Same goes for BMW. . .also known to break down way more than a Mercedes

Whats up guys, quick update.

I got my mind made up and i am definitely going to buy a 2012 mazda speed 3 if i sell my benz. The interior is amazing and the car it self packs a pretty good kick with 262 hp and 280 torque.

http://www.pearsonmazda.com/new-inve...4C1536508.aspx

I have someone coming tomorrow to take a look at my Mercedes. What do you guys suggest for a private sell value ? The car only has 92k miles on it and its in pretty good condition. I just put on 4 brand new tires as well.

Just get that swell MazdaSpeed3 and let the chips fall where they may. Essentially unbeatable fun-to-drive quotient. :)

Why not just keep the coupe and drive 2 cars? At least you'll always have a back up when the other one isn't available.

It's a very fun car to drive, no doubt. The no sunroof thing would kill it for me, though (if I were looking in that vein, I'd go cpo WRX 5-door). Good luck with everything.

On the other hand, you can't get an STi with a sunroof, so you'd be getting the top of the line in sunroof-equipped Subies.

That is true wrx gets like 25 mpg and is 27k premium package, what is the chance that they will drop it 2 grand to match the speed3 price. Im selling the Benz cuz I need a down payment to make the financing about 350ish a month

well, for one the WRX is still a 4wd turbo hatch or sedan. The regular Lancer is a POS unless you get the Ralliart.

but really, the STi or the EVO are different animals compare to their counterpart and cost a lot more too.

between MS3, WRX, and Ralliart...I'd get the WRX.

also have you checked out the GTI? much more similar priced vs the MS3.
