Header time - M271
Hi guys,
2 days ago my M271 blew the exhaust manifold gasket on a spirited in town run. Pretty clear indication of a clogged / grenated primary cat.
It's time for an upgrade/replacement and I'd like to go aftermarket
Who still makes headers? Vath? Carlab ? Kleemann ? LET? OBX

They are likely the best and surely the most expensive. There was a recent thread about a lister's exerience with OBX headers. The upshot was that they were OK (very similar design) but could need work for a proper fit (his did). IIRC, the primary tubes didn't seem to match the size of the exhaust ports in the head but do a search to verify. I have seen at least one other lister who had a positive experience (but that could have been on a V6).
I got a quote from Kleeman for $1245 about a year ago and decided that was a little rich for me. As I said, it is a pretty high price, but if their quality is good, that might not be that bad a price for what you get.

A German company named Becker makes some. Better quality than obx IMHO. About the same price as obx. Maybe even a little bit cheaper. I just bought some new for $400.

FYI, The Becker Performance Header for the m271 comes with all the hardware and gaskets included. I read in another post that the obx does not come with new gaskets
