c240 Front Brake pad change Dilema
c240 Front Brake pad change Dilema
The driver side was a piece of cake, on the passenger side the bracket that holds the outside pad will not slide out. Piston is fully comressed in and i can replace the inner pad but the outer pad i need the bracket to slide out for the new pad to clear the rotor but it does not slide.
There are 2 12mm bolts holding the outside bracket, i have never had to take them off to do brake pad change. I think whatever the pin slides on for outside caliper is seized, will loosening the two 12 mm bolts help? Any tricks or diagrams or pics? It looks like the bolt is holding a boot and some wierd washers but i am afraid to open it and realizing i messed something up.
Any advice would help !! Thx

Get some penetrating oil onto things & after 24 hours if this does not work apply some judicious heat. Don't separate the calipers & don't push the piston too far in or it might give you over return & a low pedal. Only push back far enough to insert pads.
