Geez, Amanonfire got it.
It's the rubber piece between the hatch and the body for the wiring.
I ordered one with the idea that at some point, I'll replace the hatch
since I have a dent in it, that encopassed the plastic window, metal and fiberglass parts.

I though it would take longer than that.

Well my hatch is banged up, and awaiting the day when it will be replaced along with that hose, rrrr...yes, thats's correct. rrr I mean... uh...

Meanwhile the hose lives in a pile of otherwise unused coupe parts, including a head gasket set, and C32 AMG rotors and Akebono pads.

193K miles and still truckin'. RRR?

My tailgate (hatch) rubber cable pass seal is still good,... but I noticed the other side of the hatch as some large rubber grommets that seals holes that can allow another tailgate (hatch) rubber cable pass seal. I'm thinking about using this second access area to pass the cable for a rearview reverse camera that would be mounted against that plexiglass at the back of the tailgate.

And until I get a rearview reverse camera and find time to mess with the headliner,... the tailgate (hatch) rubber cable pass seal will sit in my pile of parts for my ToDo list.
