Need new Radiator - ATF and coolant issue
A couple of days ago, I noticed some fluid on the garage floor under the 02 C230 Coupe. Today I took it to an INDY and they said that ATF is leaking at the radiator. Some connector has gone bad. They suggested I replace the radiator and quoted $580. I did a search and this seems it could become a big issue. I understand that I may get away with replacing some O rings but would it be better off just replacing the whole radiator? The car has 120K miles and I drive 120 miles 5-6X each week. I read from the search that if I do not do this ASAP, it could lead to transmission issues.
Also the shop and the dealership mentioned I need to replace a bolt on the transmission. They both said that oil is starting to leak from the bolt. The indy shop called it an electric bolt???? Anyways dealership cost $160 for the bolt and indy cost $360 with a tranny service. I just did a tranny service, coolant service and ATF service in Dec. It seems like I had bad timing with those services.

Hi - You need to replace the electrohydraulic bush. Cost $12 genuine at RM european. We can show you how to do it. Don't know why they are calling it a bolt.
If you have a Valeo radiator it is worth replacing with a Behr at about $150. Otherwise just replace the sealing rings where the pipes plug into the transmission cooler. Cheap!

Thanks! Do I have to do the radiator ASAP. The dealership just quoted me $1200 to change the radiator. Otherwise I can get it done at the indy for $580 later this week or play around it this weekend and next weekend for cheap
I just don't want to cause further damage by driving the car.

Double check before you order this, I didn't look too close, but thats what they sell for.
You can search, others have replaced theirs.
Are you sure you need one? Is there water in the ATF?
Have you sent a sample out for testing?
Sounds fishy to me, I'd bet all you need is the 'Pilot Bushing'
which is what mercedes calls the piece that attaches into the electrical connection.
Actually it's just the orings that go bad.
Do a search all this has been covered a hundred times.
Check installuniversity.com for info about the orings, though we have no drain plug for the
torque converter and they don't sell the orings separately anymore.
