Bluetooth for Cell Phone
Hello everyone,
First, let me say that you all are amazing! So glad I found this resource!
Second, let me apologize if my question has already been answered. I've been reading for hours, but it seems there are a lot of moving parts to all of this (e.g., just when I think I have my answer, I start wondering if I'm working off of outdated information).
Even if you can't answer all of my questions, answering whatever you can is greatly appreciated.
Car Information:
Make: Mercedes
Model: C230
Year: 2006
Note: when I called mercedes asking about bluetooth options, they said my car is "pre-wired".
Phone Information:
iPhone 4S
Goal:
Be able to use my iPhone 4S to make hands-free calls in the car (by integrating it with the car via bluetooth)
Specific Questions:
1) I believe I would need a "bluetooth interface module" to accomplish my goal. Is this correct?
2) After doing some research, I think I should order this --> B67876131 Is this the latest / greatest?
Reference: http://www.wireless4mb.com/page18/as...UNE%202011.pdf
3) The compatibility list on wirless4mb.com says it's compatible with Iphone 4. Does anyone know if that includes the 4s?
4) My most important question... Is the part number B67876131 all I would need to order? I read some posts that seem to indicate that---if my car is prewired---I should already have a connector in my middle console for the bluetooth option. I can see that wiring runs to my middle console, but I don't have any connector in the middle console (I do I see where I could punchout the hole for the connector though). Is my car "prewired" even though I don't have the connector in the console (I just have some wiring going to the console)? Does B67876131 come with the connector that would go into the punchout in the pic? See attached pics of my car.

For Question #4, the main reason I am asking is because I have heard that some people are installing the "Hands-Free Communication System" before they install the "bluetooth interface module" (B67876131). If the dealer has told me that I am "pre-wired", does that mean I already have the "Hands-Free Communication System" and only need B67876131?

Look here for the full details
You will need three pieces, though one can be skipped if you want (I didn't).

So, from what I see is that you just can't hook a bluetooth phone. I have been trying my phone and the display says 'No Phone'. They're is no 'plug and play'.
Thanks
