my guess is a chip tuning, they program your ECU and unless you have to get that serviced "they" won't know.

Warranty
After you have upgraded the chip, can you put it back to the factory settings if you choose?

Thanks,

Tim

actually touching the computer on the benz is worse than putting N2O on it or a smaller pulley!

They can tell if the computer has been tampered with. It sets itself in memory. I know that my buddy just blew up his SLK32 AMG, he had n2o on it. When he took it in, they looked at it and tried to figure out what happen. They asked him if he did anything different and he said no. He said that the charger must had caused the engine to get really hot. The believed him and fixed it.

At my mercedes dealership there is actually a guy there that does all the n2o hookups on all the mercedes. So if anyone near me wants it done let me know. Its safe.....but Jeremy was running a 125 shot.....not too smart!

benz seems to have speed limiters everywhere on their ecu...renntech spent hours trying to remove them from their clk gtr look-a-like or something. they were still working out the last few at press time. if u can, u should try to find an aftermarket that will "flash program" ur ecu instead of getting a chip soldered on. easiest way for good 5-10 hp gain is exhaust, pretty commonplace.

there is this thing called moss-magnusson act which states car owners are more than welcomed to modify, upgrade, and/or change parts on their cars without voiding the warranty. if the dealer/manufacturer refuses to do the repair under warranty, they first have to prove that ur particular upgrade is a direct cause of failure on the part under question. it's a very tedious process for them, so they usually just fix it unless it's something pretty obvious. u can visit sema.org for more detail. e.g. on my volvo wagon, if i had gotten nitrous and pushed the hp over 300...the connecting rods would have failed; as such, it would be easy for volvo to say that was the cause and refuse to do the warranty. if i had simply gotten a exhaust, and the rods failed...highly unlikely the exhaust would've cause it, so volvo would have a hard case and simply do the repairs.

The guy at Long Mercedes name is Jason Campbell. He does really good work, and he will keep your car as clean as anything, and he will also tell you what you can and cant do. Very professional.

About the rods, you would not want to run that big of a shot in a car to make that much hp. Since our cars already have a charger a 25 shot acts like we have a bigger intercooler, and actually can give you about 30-40 more horses off that small of a shot. Just because it cools the air really good before entering the charger. The secret is to put the n2o at the lower part of the piping, so it has room to travel and cool air. Makes it less likely to mess something up. Also, a 25 shot is not going to hurt ANY car on the road. Unless its just an old car thats about to go anyway
