played around with they for like 15 mins, finaly got it to turn on. The first 14 mins it would just stay in the first position and not move at all. Then after playing around with it for a while it finaly got to the next spot were it powers up but it still wouldnt start, then it randomly started. I drove straight to auto zone and had the battery tested. They said it was in good condition. Then my car wouldnt turn on again, thought I was going to be stuck at auto zone but luckily it turned on again after a few mins of playing around with it. When I got home I tested it to see if it would turn on and I couldnt get it to turn on again. I feel like the problems getting worst. It started as just being difficult to take the key out, to not being able to take the key out without messing around with it for a bit, to when you got the key out it would think that the key is still in and keep beeping and saying remove key, then it wouldn't start half the time, now its not starting 90% of the time

He did say it had recently had a battery change so it does look to be the EIS.. That sucks, but if that's the only issue then you're still in good shape for a 2002. Although I'm sure that doesn't help at all. Reliability wise it's never going to match your 05.

So heres a quick up date for everyone about how its going..
So on wensday I called around to a few places and dicided to take it to a dealership that was 30 minuits away from my house even though I have one less then 2 mins away from my house. This other dealership said they would apply the $160 that I have to pay for my diagnostic to the repair costs while the dealership by my house wouldnt. I am also getting 20% off the total cost because of my MB credit card. Thursday morning my car wouldnt start when I was soposed to take it in so I figured I am going to half to tow it there. I called a town truck and right as the tow guy got there it randomly started . So I ended up driving there and leaving the angry tow truck guy behind. The dealership said they would call me back within a few hours but they didn't unit the next day. Friday morning they called saying they cant figur it out and need me to bring my other key in too. So I drove back there and dropped off my other key. When I got home I got other call from them saying they figured it out...they said I need a new EIS..which I have been saying to them all along thanks to you guys at the form btw. They said I also need a new battery and 2 new keys
I told them no I don't because I no the battery is perfectly fine because the previous owner (jordan) just replaced it and when I went to auto zone to test it they said its in perfect condition. Also needing new keys doesn't make sense either. The dealer said its going to take at least till tusday and maybe more time . But the best part of all this has been the lowner they gave me, a brand new C250 facelifted sedan. I have straight up fallen in love with this car. Crazy power and dope comfort. I think I have dicided what my next car is . Haha nawh I could never leave the w203 family. Heres some pics of what I am rolling around for the next coupe of days. 100 mile daily limit though

I never liked the old w204 but recently had a 2012 c300 4matic fully loaded and fell in love with it as well. But when I picked up my car I decided I liked it more lol. It was fun watching bad boys 2 while waiting for someone to finish up at a doctors appointment lol
That sucks about the EIS I always wonder if I will have to joy of running into that issue.

Ya I used to also not like the w204s, when the dealer gave me a 2011 C300 loaner I defiantly thought my car was nicer. But the face lifted w204s just blew my mind. Loving the command too. Just a all around nice car. Hope I don't get a EIS issue with my sedan, that would just be straight BS.

California law requires any auto repair shop to return replaced parts when requested.
You might have to pay the core charge to get them though.

Dang, now it's got me thinking that it might happen to my 02 someday.. Maybe an 05+ w203 will come along before it does happen Anyways, sucks that it had to be an EIS problem.. They're probably just low blowing you about having to replace both keys since you have a 20% discount.. That's the Stealership for ya! That facelift w204 looks good to!

Heres a quick update on everything:
So my SA just gave me a call, he said he ordered the EIS but it wont be in till at least Thursday which I deffinatly dont mind because that means more time with the loner for me hopefully I get to keep the lowner for a weekend so I could take a little road trip in it . Now to the bad news... He said that it looks like my cars tie rod is damaged and that needs to be replaced and a alinement also. I told him I will think about it before having it repaired so I could ask you guys for advice about it. He said it would cost 250 to have the tie rod replaced then 100 for alignment. Do you guys think its worth doing or is he just trying to make some extra money off me? Also would this be something my incurence would cover because he said it must of happend from something in the past hitting the bottem of my car...

i told u i replaced the alternator and battery for the car
as for tie rod, i heard about it a few years back but the shop told me not to worry about it so i never bother. now that you remind me, anyway, like what the other guy say, California law shop has to give you back the old parts!

I would just put the car up on ramps for 5 minutes and look at the tire rods yourself before spending the money but that's just me. That said if they are original then it may be time.

Hope it doesn't happen to my 05 in the future, I would be pissed if I had to replace 2 EIS.

I've never seen an EIS failure on a facelift car on the W203 section. Interestingly enough, though, the 2008s have had quite a few on the W204 section.
It should be noted that overall EIS failure is really fairly rare, even among pre-facelift W203s where pretty much everything aside from the drivetrain is problematic.
