I never got around to putting my CF front lip on either, I was to worried about messing it up by hitting a curb or something so I sold it. I guess I need to get my fenders rolled too, did you have HMS do that for you too (I saw on your build thread that you had them install your coils). Any new mods on the car?

Chapter 15: Carbon fiber wrapped roof

After my roof spoiler got stolen I felt like my car was looking a little to plain towards the top. I wanted to do something to add some detail and make it look less stock. I decided to go with Carbon Fiber wrap to match my door pillars. Got a 48x48 sheet and it was pretty much the perfect amount. It came out nice at first but the next day when it got really hot it started to look less nice and had a few little bubbles and shrank a bit. I did this more to just get a idea on how it will look, I will most likely re do it soon or have someone redo it for me who knows how to do it better

Yeah same here with the lip, but its still sitting in my garage. I didnt get my fenders rolled at HMS, they didnt have the roller tool to do it so I was told about another place in city of industry where they did it for me fairly cheap. I like the top, too bad I have a black top already lol, I would get a flat badge if i were you

I think the flat badges look a lot nicer and sportier, but theres just something about looking out from inside the car and seeing that MB star in the middle of the road that I love. If you don't mind me asking how much the the fender rolling cost? I think I am going to need to roll myn too

It actually looks really nice with matte black, I didn't think I would like it but it looks pretty clean. I think CF looks good with black too because it just looks black until you get closer to it then see its CF. Btw sorry for not replying to you earlier chester, I saw the pics and was about to reply then my phone died. I just went and put it to charge so I will reply in a second

thanks! make sure to do it when its not to hot out side. Mine came out a bit sloppy because it was 90 degrees out when I was doing it so the wrap would instantly heat and and crunch up the way wrap does when heated. Also it was so hot that it was hard to press down on it because it would burn you. I am going to re do it soon but next time I need to do it in my garage or something. I think it'll look sick on your ride

I'll make sure I remember that, thanks for the advice. In that case, I'll try and do it soon before it gets too hot and humid around here!

do not do vinyl out in the sun and do cut the vinyl bigger than you need so you don't have to stretch it because they will shrink. use the squeegy to push the air out and the vinyl down. don't use your fingers because they will not be even.

Ebay, I paid 25 for the double din mounting kit (the surround thing), the antenna adapter, and the wiring harness. All of it was new and had free shipping, it was a really good deal

Ya I wasn't thinking when I did it in the sun, now that I look back I realized how bad of an idea that was. Thanks for the tips frank, I will be sure to do all those things when I wrap my roof again next week

Believe it or not you were the reason I got my LM reps. I saw some pics of your car back when it was pewter with the gun mettle LMs and I loved the look. It really gave me a nice feel for how it would look and pushed me to get them, thanks . Love the blue btw!

Question and Answer

So recently I have been getting a lot of PMs about questions on my car, a lot of them being repeats so I figured I might as well answer them on here for future references.

Q: were you able to retain your steering wheel controls with that head unit installed?

A: I did loss steering wheel controls when I had the head unit installed but you could spend some extra money (I think its under a hundred) and have this kit installed that keeps the function of the steering wheel controls with a aftermarket head unit. There is a lot of info about it here on the forum.

Q: how much did it run you?

A: The head unit its self came out to around 465 after tax, originally it was 550 with tax but I had them do a price match and it knocked off about $100. The install cost 60 at fry's electronics, Its a simple install that can be done your self, I did it myself on my coupe and it wasn't hard at all.

Q: What size are the wheels and the width, and the offset?

A: My LM reps are 19s, the fronts are 19x8.5 and rears are 19x9.5. Front offset is 35 and rears are 40. I put a 12mm spacer on the front to clear my BBK and a 15mm spacer on the rear to make it sit flush.

Q: what tire size did you get for them.

A:
Front: 225/35/19
Rear: 245/35/19
I should have gone with 245/30/19 in the rear though.

Q:What spacers did you use?

A: H&R all around 12mm front and 15mm rear

Q: Any problems with police for your tinted lights?

A: Nope, people have way crazier tinted lights then mine and cops still usually don't do anything

If anyone else has any questions always feel free to ask me here on my thread or PM is still fine with me too, I am here to help!

I am not to sure who made them, there not the Miros or lenisa cora (excuse my ridiculously wrong spelling of that I just have no clue how to spell it). I got them from 323 motor sports a sponsor here on the forums. These are a lot different then all of the reps I have seen though

The new 2012 ones can but the older models don't. Love the civic hatches though, before I bought your coupe I was going to get a 96 civic coupe instead, surprisingly the benz cost less then most of the civics I was looking at
