OK, when does the rev limiter kick in??
Yesterday I tapped my horn at someone who didn't take off at a green light. So, being the smart a$$ she was, she limped along across the intersection at 2 mph impeding my speedy progress
. As soon as I could get around her, I floored it in 1st and quickly hit 6K rpm (redline for my C240), shifted to 2nd and before I knew it, noticed the needle was past the red zone at 6K to about the 6250 mark. Maybe I was just about to hit the limiter, but I didn't notice any "shutdown". Just shifted to 3rd and kept on going... What's up? Would the rev-limiter have stopped me from going further?

Redline on a standard shift is supposed to be 6200 RPM on a Coupe at least. Although it is marked at 6000 RPM on the tach. My rev limiter kicks in just after the 6200 mark. Yes I do hit it once in a while since 1st is so darn short.
