My New Aero Turbine Exhaust

There doesn't seem to be much on here about this aero turbine exhaust, so I thought I should at least share my experience, for the next person looking at maybe getting one. I realize it's not for everyone, most will probably hate it. But I've had it for two weeks now and absolutely love it. The sound/video clip is w/resonator delete on my C320. Was done by mufflertech here in Sacramento, gotduals.com. Had them also put on the black chrome exhaust tip. Came to a lil over $200 for the muffler, exhaust tip, and installation. They even cut my bumper for me, did a pretty good job actually. I have had no problem with the bumper getting to hot or melting so far. If anyone has any questions or wants to see some other pic of it, or maybe a different sound clip just say so.

sounds good....looks good.....nice experimentation and a successful one, now the W203 family have more choice in the exhaust department, would love to have this done as my ride my 3 little boys will be super excited to hear my C280-4M growl like that. It will put a huge smile of their faces ear to ear.....they don't understand power or HP but they do understand the growl....lolol.......would like to know how much of the growl do you hear inside the cabin? can you post a youtube sound clip of how much sound does gets transmitted inside the cabin and also some links of where you bought the stuff from.....

GOOD MOD!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks man!! I know exactly what you mean with kids. Got a 4 year old boy myself, at almost every traffic light he likes to say "papa do the vroom vrooom"! For that alone it was worth every penny. Thought the wife was gonna flip when I came home with it though. Since she drives it just as much as me. But she just laughed and said, "oh I'm def driving".

As far as the cabin noise. After the first day, I was contemplating taking it off. Or at least putting the resonator back on. Especially on the highway, I was hitting 100dB in the cabin. Wasn't sure i could take it. I'm sure part of that though was due to me never having anything like this. And if you compare it to what I had, it's laughable. Here's a clip of what I went from all stock minus the resonator delete.

http://youtu.be/dRLrSkBj3mY

It might have just been in my head, or the fact i got used to it. But after a few days having it, I did do a cold air intake on the car and I really feel like it made the cabin much more bearable. I haven't tested the dB level again since, but I could swear it helped. I'll do that today.

Looks good! Don't be surprised if you do see some melting, though - the bumper's still a little close to the pipes.

Do you have a sport or lux bumper? Did they cut your original bumper?

I'm asking because I have a c32 exhaust I want to install however unless they hang the muffler lower or cut the bumper I might need to upgrade to a sport rear bumper before I do the entire kit.

I believe it's the lux one. Yes, they cut the original bumper. But not very much. Just used what looked like an air dremel. Here's some more pics. Let me know if you want one more specific.

I use Areo Turbine as a 'rasp' eliminator.
Google it.
1st I got the Remus.
Then the header.
Then, free flow cat. It got real raspy sounding, added the Areo turbine to smooth
out the exhaust note.

That's pretty cool. Got any sound clips? Remus was actually my first choice love their sound. Then I saw how much they cost and quickly realized that was not happening. I hadn't even heard of aero exhausts until I was at the shop about to get a magnaflow. Installer said i should check out the sound of this aero he had. I tried to do sum research on here for it real quick. But like I said earlier. There is barely anything. Are they new to the market or something?

This expensive 'rasp' pipe is just a couple of areo turbines.
Check the video.
I read somewhere that's what he uses, but I don't think they were actually intended to replace the muffler.

Search around for my sound clips. They're here somewhere.

I don't think those are aero turbines at all. Or at least I haven't seen one they sell that resembles that.

But Aero does make a turbine resonator as well as a turbine muffler. They are two different products. Neither resemble that.

You can see them both being sold here.

Hey thanks for the pictures! Yes, that is the same bumper as mine and they did cut it pretty nice. I had my car on the lift over the weekend and the shop was concerned about cutting the original bumper.

Really? Nice, seems like there aren't to many with the black chrome tips.

Love that look you've got now. I've wanted to do the same. But how did you get around the spare tire wheel well for a second pipe? Would you happen to have a pic from under the car I could see? Thanks.

^ mine were the same style tips..not black chrome though! Good choice on those!
Depends on your muffler...
There are two ways...you can see obviously how mine was done( the second pic is Rolland's white benzo and his set up)

How did you cut the bumper or did you let the shop handle it? I like the style that molds around the tips. I would cut it myself using a dremel if I could figure out the fitment.

simple...i used CAD to size up the holes with 1/4" larger radius for clearance.
Then printed out the "circles" and cut according to where i wanted to exhaust tips to go...then had the shop do the whole exhaust/tips based on the cut out placement
It was very simple

They basically just used an air dremel on mine. I watched him the whole time, if i'd known it'd be that day i'd have done it myself long before.
