I guess that means that you haven't gotten your chain replaced (how far from Hogger do you live?
)
I certainly don't disagree with anything you and Glyn have said and I find it amazing that you're having so much trouble finding people to make you happy - regardless of whether they think it's called for.
While I don't have a vaulted opinion of any dealer, I would certainly expect them to be more competent than they have been for you - so far, my direct experience is that they haven't been incompetent, just expensive.

Here is my register:

I pulled this from my freshly updated excel sheet. Maintenance costs for 49 months and 117,000 miles. Just thought someone might like to see it.

Erm, about that timing chain.. no, actually, I haven't. The mechanic warned me that if I didn't go ahead and replace the water pump while I had it apart to do the chain at such advanced mileage there was a decent chance of paying labor all over again once it does fail. So I ordered a water pump for it and they sent the wrong one. So right now I am waiting for the correct water pump and then it's off to the shop. The interesting thing is that I don't hear the noise anymore on cold starts. Still, it is top priority.
Road-trip with passenger who had a migraine at one point. I put it in C-mode to smooth things out a bit in stop and go.

My rear sunshade sticks, as well, if I let it go all the way up. I stop it before it gets to that point and use it that way. Oh well.. it's a work around, I'm certainly not paying the amount it would cost to fix that.
John - I update mine every couple of months. I use fuelly now to keep track of gas.
