C230 coupe aux-in advice

I'm planning to buy a 230 coupe, probably an '03 or '04 but I'm flexible. Here's the thing...I need to have aux-in for my iPhone. From searching the forums it sounds like this can be tricky to install. Are there any years or audio packages I should focus on?

I put in an FM modulator and works great, the on/off switch i installed where the ashtray is (after taking the removable part out). this is the one I put in, you need to get antenna adaptors so that it fits the radio we have

http://www.google.com/products/catal...wAQ#ps-sellers

took me about an 1 hour to install, but you have to remove the center trim, the radio to get access to the back of the radio and console (to tap power into the lighter) . the adaptor box can fit in the space behind, just make sure you secure it or will have a rattles While you have everything out it is good to install additional 12v / usb accessory outlet for GPS, radar detector, phone charger etc in the top part of the glove box, (an extra hour). The outlet in the console is in a terrible place especially if you have the long plug for the Garmin GPS with the traffic antenna and you drive a stick

Check the right side within gloveboxes .... If the car has aux in there will be a jack there. Small but noticable. I think the car needs to have command (GPS) unit.

If you have command, it has an input.
If you have the cassette, it can be modified but it's not super easy for the average person.
OR use something like the uh forget what it's called, plugs into the DB2 loop and the system see's it as a CD changer, but you can plug your ipod into it. That costs like $400.

If you want true iPhone integration, you need to get a 05+ (ie post-facelift). Then you can even control the iPhone with the steering wheel buttons.

The best you can do with a pre-facelift 02-04 is manually install an aux in through the tape deck if you want to stay OEM. For aftermarket, you can install a Dension 500 (iirc), but that is pretty pricey. This is what c230 is talking about.

Good luck.
