Chevron vs Lucas vs STP
Is there an advantage to one over the other for any of these fuel treatments/additives?
I have a very, very subtle valve tap at start up that seems to go away as the car heats up.

About your "valve tap"... How many miles do you have on your car? Are you sure it is valve tap? It sounds like it could be the timing chain is a little loose. That is not something you want to mess around with. It needs to be dealt with quickly.

I drive a Toyota Hybrid...
i lost gas milage using chervon techron, what other people say, the addictive are just their way of marketing, doesn't really do any good, sure it may burn cleaner, but u lose gas milage because u ain't getting much REAL gas in your gas tank, maybe Chevron get tax less if they claim they use cleaner addictive in their gas, its cheaper for them, more fill up for us, try it out, go to a Acros, or 76, u will find urself getting more MPG

Chevron with Techron will improve your mileage not make it worse. There is no way it can make mileage worse. The additive is in the fuel in the parts per million (ppm) range.

I run Techron on a regular basis.
Also, the mention of the timing chain is a good catch! Does your noise only happen for a second during cold start? If so you need to stop running the car now until you can get the timing chain replaced.
