alignment keeps going off

i think i got a total of 5 alignments. each time id go to get one the specs were off in the front. tie rod ends, upper/lower balljoints all new. i think my sway bushings are bad but i thought they dont affect alignment

my car has been checked by my regular alignment guy and a mercedes indy.

they had my front toe at .1 and .06
front camber -.6 and -.06

rear toe is at 1.6 and 1.5

is their a reason for my tires wearing differently?

any ideas?

thanks

If your tires are worn out you will have inconsistent alignments as the car is "wedged" differently every time you put on the alignment rack. This can be easily checked. Have the car aligned, then go for a quick spin. Put it back on the rack- is everything the same? My bet is that you will find that it is not.

Get new tires and align. Repeat drill above. If still different you are missing something- front bearings, some bushings, leaky shock. If all checks out your steering rack might have excessive play.

Sammy - Your rear toe is fine. 1.6 is exactly where I ran my W203.

Which tyres are wearing badly & what does the wear look like?

On the front the guys must set the alignment & then bounce the front of the car & recheck. If bushes & balljoints are new & front wheel bearings are properly tightened then the alignment should stay fine. Check tightness of everything that has been replaced.

Presume the top of strut bearings are OK.

ya this tire place kept putting my alignment off causing all my brand spanking new tires to wear on this inside on the tires. note i bought these tires and alignment from 1 place.

i went to my normal alginement place and they did drive off and then come back

im going to get new tires then get my refund from this tire place..(they already gave me the refund on paper)

the problem is the toe keeps getting off..only on the left side

Jack up the whole front end to unload it. Grab each wheel with both hands at 12 and 6 and see if there is any play. Repeat at 3 and 9. Then using a small praybar try all joints and bushings.

On steering rack play- try both with engine running and off. There can be a very small play when engine off and none with the engine running.

Is the car's frame straight? Ie has it been in an accident?

if you are inclined to do so- pull a measuring tape and do some basic measurements in regards to the shock towers (ie distance from holes on top of the shock towers to suitable points on firewall, to the front of the car (choose solid parts symmetrical on both sides), etc. if car is not symmetrical on both sides- you have your answer.

however, my vote goes for bad bushing that you cant see. a bad bearing/ metal on metal ball joint will always give you one or another value (depending on which side it is wedged). a bad bushing will be all over the place (as it is in your case).
