ABS BAS error after changing wheel bearings
2004 c230 komp' just changed my front wheel bearings now I have BAS errors. wheel speed sensors test good. it looks to me like the speed sensor is drive by a magnet in the wheel bearing oil seal, but no one can tell me for sure, not even the main dealer. they tell me it is on the hub or in the bearing,
anyone know for sure? did I install the wrong bearing or seal?

So am I right in assuming the magnets are in the seal
The old seal is magnetic in one spot but the new seal is not.
The after market kit may not have the correct seal in it
Thanks

The sensor ring is not necessarly magnetic, it is more likely that there are several evenly spaced metal inserts in the seal.
Surely the aftermarket kit manufacturer should know this, (but one never knows)
I too guess that the clearance is the cause of your problems.

you may have broken the wire that plugs into the sensor. It has happened to me before.
