- Instructions in Star Diagnostic for automatic folding mirrors with locking??

Hey guys-

I have updated my car to auto folding mirrors.

I have purchased the 2005 front sam.

My question is- does anyone have directions/instructions/screen shots from STARS on how to code automatic folding/unfolding with lock/unlock?

Many years back someone posted the directions/instructions/screen shots for coding for the netherlands lock/unlock chirp for the rear sam- I printed those off and gave them to the dealer to code.

I spoke to my dealer today- they said they have never update coded for automatic folding/unfolding on a 2001 w203 and said they would """Give it a shot"""....

My appointment at the dealer is on Monday 8/27/2012 --- any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Charles

It is fairly easy. Does your car have memory seats? If not you will need a passenger door module, and probably a drivers door module. In 2005 all drivers door modules could handle folding mirrors, but the passenger door without memory seats needed to be changed.

If my memory serves me, the auto fold function might be part of the developer mode. Most dealers don't have that. Did you also replace the headlight switch module? It has the two switches to fold and unfold the mirrors.

If you want the right mirror to dip when switching to reverse, the mirror assembly needs the position feedback wire. Not all folding mirror assemblies have that.

I have the mirror assemblies and switch already installed and they function perfectly. I purchased the mirror assemblies that where compatible with memory and reverse tilt. I have the new 2005 front sam- I not 100% sure - but would be surprised if my dealer didnt have stars with developer mode. I guess if ill find out monday.

Im just looking for the instructions....

Charles, there are instructions in the STAR Diagnostic thread here: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ts-o-pics.html

Moviela is right it is relatively easy.

One of these days I will compile all the info from that thread and create a STAR diagnostic section in the Wiki.

Verdic is in - dealer was only able to get the drivers side to fold with lock and unlock. They said they coded the front same and both door control modules.
My guess is that the passenger dcm that I have in does not support folding mirrors with lock.

Sound right???

The dcm that everyone has post for need to work is 203-820-14-85....

does anyone know if the new dcm 203-820-14-85 is just plug and play already coded for folding or will in need to be coded for folding with locking as well?

working properly- My passenger side dcm did not support auto folding with key...

so here is the scoop-

for auto folding with key in a pre-facelifed w203 - 2001-2004

requires
2005+ front sam
2005+ driver door control module
2005+ passenger door control module
and coding by SDS

Like to do this on an 08 E63. Is there a kit I can buy? Or what would I need to do?
