HKS Titanium in sportcoupe

I was wondering put one of these mufflers in my sportcoupe, the HKS universal titaniun canister. Just cutting the rear stock muffler and install one of these, and put the cannister like supre style, with a little angled up and pointed to the left side of the car, the muffler is this one in the photo.
Best regards

Personally I don't care for the look of that one. I think the tip is way to coffee can like and looks sort of homemade.

Just my .02 worth.

I think it would be ok if you do that. Since your car is supercharged, this muffler should help you.

IMHO, not to offend anybody....I think its better to keep some kind of "class" with our MB. If we were to put aftermarket stuff, get something which is designed for MB. I understand HKS has some very well made products, but putting a HKS muffler on a MB seems a little bit weird. People will start putting Nismo turbo timer or Toms filter on our MBs!

Hello, well Harris, i dont´see those things in that manner. If for example, you´re holding a renntech or remus or supersprint and on the other hand , holding a HKS or so, if you like more the HKS rather than remus, renntech or ss , why don´t buy it? And if it´s even better for performance i don´t see an obstacle to that. Putting such exhaust in a MB won´t remove it´s class, but just add another style.

Just my 2 cents

I agree, the tip looks a bit unrefined, seems like it just got chopped off from a metal tube and weld onto the muffler.

Dude, it's YOUR car, do what you like with it. I think you would be better off not looking for cosmetic or aesthetic advice in this forum when it comes to the sacred Benz. There are some in here who would perhaps call you a "ricer" if you put anything but AMG, Kleemann, Brabus, or any other MB specific items on your car. Something about maintaining the "upscale" or "exclusive" image of MB, I believe. And if you DO do anything out of the ordinary with YOUR car, those same people would point out "this is what happens when MB goes downmarket", or "it's amazing what you can get with a Pep Boys credit card". YOUR life, live it; YOUR car, do whatever makes you happy .

I am not exactly sure whom are directing this at but, he did ask for opinions, I personally think there are better looking exhausts out there. I have seen this one mounted and it hangs too low for the car. I do agree though that some people put way to much attitude on the exclusive issue. If they wanted exclusive they should probably have spent more than 25to35K.

First of all, thanks for the positive reply, i only asked if the look was going to be different than the normal exhaust style companies like remus, amg, kleenman, brabus, the style of the muffler is different! just it.
You said that if you put this exhaust it coulb be considered "rice", well if you think that way, if you buy a exhaust from Brabus or Lorinser with crome tips, that would it be considered "rice" because it´s a non-stock part, i don´t think that way!
I only think that the exhaust would fit ok, different of the normal Mb exhausts and since the Sportcoupe has a different style of car, different from the other Mercedes like the normal C-class or E, more sportive style, this sportive exhaust would be ok.
just my 2 cents in opinion
Best regards

P.s-Benzomonterey that pic is the muffler with the silencer, that is a bonus if you don´t like to much noise you can stack up the silencer and take of 7db of noise, the normal exhaust dont have this item!!

here's what i think...

you might also want to consider the HKS classe exhausts. they look very nice and are specificly made for european cars...
there are also many other japanese mufflers out there thats very nice. Blitz for instance, but i dont know whether it will fit you car.

the titanium canister is very nice and will look very nice on your car but i think you should not add the silencer. it loos weird.

just my opinion.

BTW the pic Benzomontery put up is a APEXI N1 w/ silencer. Just to let you know. If anyone wanted a flowmaster or cherry bomb for their mb I would tell him to reconsider. HKS is a good company and I think that they make quality stuff. The muffler looks cool to me.

The muffler is like n1 style, competition, sport style, like they (MB )racers"tuners", uses in their car, competition like Nurburgring and other courses, not that crome shinning tip, that we are all used to.

it seems to hanging really low, especially the inner part of it.
Is there a picture of it from normal standing POV?

The only thing I don't like is that the muffler can be seen. I would either choose a different one or buy a rear apron that would hide it more. I like it when the only thing exposed is the tailpipe. And if you were to buy a rear apron, you might as well go for a dual-sided exhaust. Nothing wrong with the brand tho. HKS makes pretty good stuff. I used to be one of your so-called "ricers", but who cares im' only 24.

The "Your" meant that I used to be what everyone here referred to as a "Ricer". I raced in the street and had my previous cars fixed up that way. I guess I grew out of it, but you can never grow out of wanting more speed. People dog on things they don't understand and you can't understand unless you experience it. I guess i'm a ricer at heart, but would rather just pimp out my car in a more subtle, classy way.
