Does anyone know how to remove the gear shift knob on my manual shift?

It's peeling and I need to replace it.

Consequently, any advice on where to get a new one would be appreciated.

you have to remove the ashtray first then you'll be able to pull up the console. its held on by a ring that needs to be removed. theres a diy... I'll look for it

For the pictorial however my gear shifter is not covered by a leather boot entirely. It almost looks as if it's screwed in but I can't figure it out. ( Mechanically inept woman). The schotty silver paint has started to peel, looking horrible. I'm half-tempted to just paint it without trying to remove it but would rather not. Any other ideas? It's a 5 speed with chrome shifter.

I have a 2006 C230, how many camshaft position sensor are on this engine. It looks like four.

yes there are four. if you go to the wiki it should show the locations of all them and how to remove it. johnand did a diy on it.
