Smart Key
My key doesnt seem to be working last week. It wouldnt lock or unlock. So I tried the other key, it was okay until this morning when the second one is also having problems locking and unlocking. Luckily, in one of the many tries, I managed to unlock my car. (Afterwards, I was blaming myself how can I be so stupid for not using the mechanical key to open the door!!!)
Then I went straight to the dealer and have them check the keys for me. At first, the service advisor said he needs to order a new set of keys because they're having problems on some of the 2002 keys. Then he checked my keys again and said it might be the battery has ran out. He changed the batteries on both keys and they worked fine now.
Just curious, how can the battery in a key can only last for 5 months? I use my primary key everyday and I never use my second key. They both ran out of batteries within a week??Umm...shall I insist to have them change my two keys!?

Well , my keys seemed to last more than 5 months , it´s strange how it only managed to last only 5 months??? Could it be key problems?
Only now, with ok batteries, my keys seem to have technical failures not due to batteries.

Who knows how long the key sat in storage waiting to be assigned to a car... the battery might have drained then... hence the initial short battery life.
