HELP! is my tranny going out or my cat converter
whats goin on everybody, ive got a 05 c230k and i feel like theres a good amount of lag from the moment i put the pedal down and when the power actually gets to the wheels. tranny rides the gears out to like 6
jerky transitions between gears, the car feels like it takes forever to get to 40 mph sometimes, kinda feels like the engine is working too hard for the amount of power going to the wheels.
Are these typical symptoms?? is this my tranny or a problem with my cat converter- or both??
any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Okay..
Make sure you're in "S" mode instead of "C". C dumbs things down quite a bit. Also search on here for throttle reset and try that.
Then check transmission fluid and if it hasn't been done recently, do a flush. Have a mechanic check the pilot bushing, those are prone to leaking.
I don't know what "rides the gears out to like 6" means.

How many miles? Could be a lot of things, you just need to go through the process of elimination. Hear any rattling like marbles in the Cat? A muffler shop should be able to tell you if that's an issue.
Has all the regular maint. been done?
Spark Plugs?
Fuel Filter?
Both of these could cause the symptoms you describe.
Any error code? Welcome to the forum, but realize you need to provide as much info as possible to get any worthwhile answer. If you have a CEL you need to get it read. Buy an OBD reader, or got to Autozone.
When my cat got clogged, I 1st started getting random misfires, and CEL's at high rpm, and moving the coil packs around didn't have an effect.
Then I noticed the rattling, and also got some white powder coming out the exhaust.
When it came off at the muffler shop the insides were pulverized.
If your mileage is high and the tranny (Auto?) has never been flushed, yes, you will not get errors, and the shifting can be crap, but usually fixes itself with fresh fluid.
