Pictures of my old car - VERY NICE! :)
These are pictures of my previous baby
She's a 2000 Zinc Yellow Mercury Cougar Special Edition, which I picked up off the center of the showroom floor in July of 2000. I'm trading her in to get my C230
Anyway, as a special edition, she had midnight black special edition leather seats, Yellow cougar head engravings on the headrests, Color keyed wheels, and a whole bunch of other options, including the Zinc Yellow color which was only available on the Special Edition. Only 500 of these babies were made
I'm kinda emotional now, having to let her go, but let me know what you guys think!

2002 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor Sports Coupe
Nice! Surprised you are getting rid of it. I saw the red special edition at a car show and really liked it. Never understood why someone would take a 4-cylinder RSX over this front-wheel drive 6-cylinder...especially the special edition...

The C230 will help you forget you baby as soon as you drive it. I though I would miss my trade-in the C70 Volvo coupe, but I have never looked back, except for the sound system which would blow away the Coupe's system. You will enjoy.

C230K Coupe/Orion/C4/C5/CD/AMG Spoiler/V60/TeleAid, 2 MGB's
wow.... a factory rocket-boy racer
things you WON'T miss:
- Ford dealers
- front end torque steer
- Ford service centers
- that color (after you see Orion Blue up close and personal)
Seriously, I considered the Cougar...but when I asked about it at the NY Auto Show, I was told by an SVO engineer that they would only release the all wheel drive version to European dealers. Funny thing was, AutoWeek had just done a feature article on the AWD car(Cougar S), saying it would fill the niche left by Mitsubishi when they cancelled the AWD Eclipse/Talon.

my roommate has a silver special edition one /w automatics but im sorry to say the car is night and day difference with the C Coupe
BTW, the MSRP of this ENTIRE Special Edition package that I'm listing below was $495.00 over the STOCK V6 price. Mercedes can learn a LOT about pricing their options CHEAPER by following the car I got:
"Sun and Sound Package"
Unique Zinc Yellow Paint
Unique Spoiler
Upgrade to Machined Aluminum Wheels
Color Keyed Center Caps
Premium Radio with in-dash 6 CD Changer
Cougar Logo in Backglass Blackout
Color Keyed Floor mats
Unique Black Leather Seats
Embroidered Cougar Logo in Headrest
The MSRP will be $495.00 over a V6 Cougar with the Sport Package, Convenience Package, Leather Seats, 6-way power driver's seat. Ask your local dealer for more information

Honestly, it better be night and day. I paid $17.5 brand new for that 2000 Cougar Special Edition, had tons and tons of options and a 179HP V6 engine. For 15,000 more, I'm getting this c-coupe, with a 4 cylinder engine and hatchback styling. My cougar is actually faster on the 0 to 60 than the C230. The worth better be coming from somewhere other than the size of the engine and the design. I'm really debating whether or not I should sell it now.

The mitsu galant at 19K is a 140HP 4 cylinder car, that defines "rice" But with my current car, the debate is anywhere near as well defined. This has a 179HP refined Ford Europe V6, it isn't "rice", hence the debate.

I'm sure you will be thrilled with the benz. Not to knock the cougar - yours looks REALLY nice
- but I was a bit disappointed with a rental last summer in boca raton. I always liked the euro-styling, and the prospect of a six-banger, so I was thrilled when Hertz hooked me up with one, but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. With the Mercedes, it's quite the opposite.
BTW - maybe that's stuff for a new thread: What's been your favorite rental car? - I liked the Maxima they had reserved for me in Chicago best. Perfect, but unassuming. Lacks character, but some people prefer it that way.

favorite rental car (cont'd)
Runner up is the Grand Am (pssst - don't tell the world...)
Bit of a guilty pleasure, given its cheesiness. No bragging rights. Sorta like that joke
