Steering Noise

I have a 2k6 C230 Sport. When I turn the wheel sharp to the left or right the steering is making a humming noise. It doesn't matter if I'm moving or at a stop.

Any ideas what this is?

Is your car all stock or do you have any suspension mods or aftermarket wheels?

Yes it is 100 percent stock.

I think it might be the power steering pump.

Check the fluid level. If it only makes a noise at full lock it is usually aerated oil going through the pressure release valves that makes a noise. Fluid level is critical.

See bottle top right. On diesel I believe you have to pull off the engine cover IIRC.
