I recall seeing 130mph someplace, but can't find it anymore on google. Can anyone verify the top speed of the c230k?

I also recall reading that the top speed was electronically governed. So the next obvious question is how to get around that?

The EU brochure lists the top speed of the C 230 K as 240 km/h (149 MPH). That's for the manual; the auto is a bit slower.

The US/CDN ones have crappy standard tires, H-rated (210 km/h), so the speed limiter should kick in around 127-129 real MPH (likely a tick or two over 130 on the speedo).

I have actually had the speedometer up to 135 before the limiter kicked in. Shortly thereafter my radar detector started going off. At this point I executed emergency maneuver SRF (Stop Real Fast). The cop pulled me over said I was doing 90. About 20 Seconds elapsed from the time the radar detector started going off till I saw the cop. At 135mph you travel .0375 miles per second. That means I traveled about .3 to .4 miles before I saw the copper factoring in the fact that I was slowing down. By the way the coupe is very stable at 135 MPH.

The first time I hit the speed limiter I was not expecting anything, when I ran up on it I thought I broke something. I put the clutch in and slowed down. After I realized what was going on I settled down. It feels funny when it goes to work, your momentum can carry you over the 130 mark but the limiter will quickly pull you back.

randy, not that i want to, but is the speed limiter something you can remove w/ your computer software? (DAS?) is that something you considered doing?

Renntech is testing a software mod for the C230 Coupe. I'm not sure when it will be out but changing the Vmax is a normal function of a software mod.

Some companies are charging $200 or more above the cost of their chips to remove Vmax.
