Bent Intake Valve
After timing had jumped in my dumb car. Here is the aftermath of a timing chain jumping.. 8 Bent Intake Valve , lucky i wasn't driving when this happen. this happen at the turn of the key. All the exhaust valves are good lucky.

what were ur oil intervals? which oil weight and brand?
u ever change the coolant?
how would u describe your driving style? driving it hard redlining or granny style?
highway miles or city miles?
idleing alot?
just trying to find variables affecting the chain

Mine did the same. I used Mobil New Life oil frome ownership, 12 months, 1500miles.
I think I would have spotted the fault sooner if it had made the rattling sound that timing chain engines used to make. I don`t think they wrecked the top end. Good luck with fixing, need any advice, just ask. Been there done it.

thanks hotch, yea i'm almost finish, all new parts are in , waiting on new intake valves to come in and everything goes back on. Will take me another week to put everything back. after this i'm selling the clunker...

Mobil 1 - 0w , i just change the oil a month ago.. i change my coolant this summer when i had to swap out the radiator and res. tank. I drive like an ******* who stole the car with my bird flying. I do all the maintence myself on a regular basis. I don't skip a beat and fix all the problems myself. CEL lights dont stay on for more then a couple days with me.
I don't redline it at all usually. I'm up at 146k both hwy and city. THis car has been by far worst maintence cost then my Honda Accord

what year c230 u have? m271 even the 05 all skip time and jump
did u ever switch out the spark plugs? their are 2 different versions of bosch....i was gunna replace my plugs when i realized the bosch plugs i had were longer than the OE
longer plugs are for the 2.3L not 1.8
did u use the 10k mile between oil changes?
