Center exhaust and rear diffuser on a W203
I am going to move my exhaust to the center of my C230. In an older forum, theres a picture of a C230 with a center lambo exhaust tip. I really like the diffuser that is used and was wondering if anybody knew what type it is and how to mount it or one that is just as nice looking.

that was all photoshopped... the problem with doing a center exit exhaust is you have to find a way to pipe it around the spare wheel well and have enough room to put the tip. the spare wheel well goes all the way up to the rear bumper with only a few inches between the bumper and wheel. You will have to get a custom diffuser made because no one makes a diffuser like that for our car, the diffuser will have to cover up the existing muffler cut on the bumper and most diffusers attach to the bumper and true functional diffusers go underneath the car and are attached to the frame to reduce drag.
To get that look its going to cost a pretty penny because either you have to somehow remove the spare wheel well or cut a center piece out and remold the spare well (or you'll be left with a giant hole in your trunk) then you'll have to get a diffuser made to accommodate the center, then get the exhaust built.

It's possible if you still have the OEM spare, you'll have to remove the foam holder and cut it in half if you want to keep it, cut the spare wheel well in half then remold it. That should give you enough clearance to run the piping underneath the wheel tub.

I'd say more trouble than it's worth, but i could look good.

I think it should most likely stay on the lambo. All the money your going to spend on this and its not going to look that much better in my opinion. I would go get a quote from a shop before buying parts.

I have read a couple of older articles on here where somebody would modify a CL65 rear diffuser, which I have in thought. Im going to remove the spare tire tub and make it flat so the exhaust can come straight through. Since my spare is a mini tire, I will just leave it in the trunk. Im not going to run a Lambo tip, I have a twin tip that Im going to use. There is another picture of the same car that has it with the twin tips that looks so much better

how it works out... thats a lot of the trunk to cover just to do a center exhaust. I guess your going to toss the jack and other parts in the sides.
Heres the whole piece you'll have to remove and cover up.

Have thoughts of also making a center cut out and rewelding a hump in the kinda like a interior has a hump for the transmision, but only go about 3 inches so I can still use the spare tire carrier with its tools. Don't 100 percent know how im going to do this, but I think it's a one off look and I like it. This car is my daily driver so I do have to keep that in thought also.

If you want to do a center exhaust just lose the spare tub and carry a can of the fix-it-flat. Lot's of newer cars are coming with that instead of a spare. I just did a quad setup on my wagon. I've heard of a place in the OC that does good work...I think they are called AAA muffler or exhaust.

i'm not a fan of fix a flat, and tire shops hate it too. it leaves a sticky residue on the tires and is a messy as hell to clean. it sometimes messes up the tire pressure sensor too, also if you use the whole can its sometimes builds up and can cause your wheel to be unbalanced. if you do use it make sure your fore warn the tire shop when they are removing the tire.

The use of fix a flat is not something I would consider. If something happenned locally I would tow the the Benz to the tire shop and get it fixed. On a long travel I would take the space saver tire with me and the jack. That way I can get to a shop to fix the tire. On the other side of things I have used fix a flat on my 95 Impala SS with no problems, but it did not have a TPMS system on it.
