Transmission C230 (W203) 2006/7 - Please help/advice
Hey guys. your advices are real helpful
I live in Georgia (country). i just sold my mercedes C240 2002 (W203) and now i'm going to by C230 2006/2007 (W203).
For me it doesn't metter what type of transmission i will have (maybe i'll by automatic, maybe manual) i drive with pleasure on both ))
But please, i need your advice for - how trysty/strong/succesfull or problematic 7G automatic transmission design is?

If properly serviced every 39K miles the 722.9 transmission is fine. Early models had some issues with speed turbine sensors & conductor plates. It's luck of the draw.

I have a 07 C280 with the 7sp auto. It started giving me problems at 70K and by 75k miles I had to be towed to the nearest MB dealer. The car wouldn't shift out of 1st. They replaced the conductor plate for $1200 and it has been fine since. From what I've read this is normal for 07's with the 7 sp and even though it's a factory defect MB won't fix it. So save up and enjoy the ride.

2007 C-230 Sport AMG pkg
I just got a 2007 C-230 Sport and have been fighting a transmission issue, did different things based on what the codes that were coming out on the scanner. Well I read one of the threads here and found that changing a battery is a good idea or at least to test it. I just went to test it and it appears it was the original battery the test was suppose to show 760 Cran Amps well the old bat came back with 330 CA. So I had them change it to a new one, instantly the car felt better. I will be testing for the next few days but I think this has fixed it. I know that the maintenance we did is a very good idea I could have probably saved some money. I would recommend you have a battery tested or changed when you get it.
