W203 C220 CDI
Hi can anyone help, I have a w203 c220 cdi auto and it keeps losing power for a few seconds and then picks up again, I don't think its going in and out of limp mode as it won't rev at all when it loses the power. This happens at all speeds and at no specfic time or event whilst driving and i have no fault messages showing when it happens. I have had it on Star but no faults have shown up and i have changed the MFI, anyone any other ideas......Help please

If the engine is sound there are 3 things to look at. Air starvation, fuel starvation, clogged cat or exhaust.
Make sure it has constant fuel pressure & that filters are in good order, Make sure that the turbo controller/wastegate is behaving. Unless you can hear crap rattling around in the exhaust it is generally blocked or not. Not intermittent.

From Ausmbtek post:-
"
"Common issues are jammed turbo vanes, air flow sensors, EGR valve blocked, boost pressure sensor faults or vacuum leak to the turbo control valve or damaged intake manifold flaps.
Only having the fault code for low boost pressure and if there is never full power then I'd suspect the boost pressure sensor, vacuum leak or turbo vanes jammed.
Good power than loosing after extending driving (usually constant speeds) mostly jamming turbo vanes.
Cats usually give low power all the time, sometimes after changing the cats the air mass meter dies (it would already be failing, but the sudden increase in air flow takes it beyond it's useful range and trips a new code)."
I cannot understand why this sort of problem does not leave a code. The problem is posted quite regularly on this forum.

I am new here but hope someone can chip in.
I have a W203 220 Cdi 2005 model and have reservations about the fact that the Cat just behind the Turbo could be partially blocked.
Is there any issue with the removal of the core from the ECU of the vehicle if I did this?
Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated
