Not sure where that is coming from. Is that the connection for the auto-leveling if you have factory BiX headlights? Just my guess. If so there should be a more or less matching one on the other side. I know there is a connecter there somewhere that isn't used if you don't have the auto-leveling, but I believe it is still included in the factory harness. (I think...)

It's only purpose AFAIK is to circulate hot coolant through the heater core when the engine is off. I don't see why it would throw any codes.

Yup. Here's where it supposed to go.

Whether the pump was ever there is the question.
It's an option code. In the US it's included, but perhaps not in UK.
It allows you to push the 'recirc' button on the dash when the car is turned off,
but the engine still warm, and blows heat at a low fan speed into the car for about 1/2 hour.
