ATF leak
Before taking a long trip from Florida to Texas I wanted to check the ATF level and took off the lock (2005 C230K). I just read some threads that the ATF lock should be replaced after taking off; is that a fact? I'm not nearly as qualified as a mechanic/MB guru as you all so please bare with me. The leak just started and I jacked it up but not high enough to actually go under and inspect the TCU. I will have to use a lift since I do not own a hydraulic jack and currently using the stock jack.
Could taking the ATF lock from the engine sparked this leak? I will be running around town tomorrow in hopes of getting some auto shop advice and also some good feedback from you all. Thanks for your time!

The most likely cause of a leak is the electrohydrualic bush where the TCU harness plugs into the front RHS diagonal of the transmission. The TCU is inside the car under the passenger kick plate. You have to lift the carpet to access.
Other causes can be pan gasket or front or rear shaft seals but the likely cause is the electrohydraulic bush leaking.

My car was dripping as well i thought it was the pan seal but it was the above part
Is that electrohydrualic bush available at a local auto shop? I don't want to pay X amount more for that part at y nearest MB dealership. I have to stop by there anyway to pick up some ATF fluid to replace what has leaked out.
Andddd I also have to pick up a ATF dip stick. Thanks again!

I have the instal directs from installuniversity.com I found from here but as a quick reminder, taking out the TCU harness to change out the pilot bushing will a lot of fluids come out? I'm going to be doing the work from under with a lift so it'll be easier from what I've read others do. Thanks, you've been so helpful and so prompt with responses!
