Interesting things about our car when the battery dies...
So I broke my battery yesterday, don't ask how, and I needed to get another one. My car sat for about 4 hours without a battery. I got back in my car and here is what happened:
1. MPG Reset (trip computer)
2. Radio Reset - I have aftermarket, so I am not sure if this applies to OEM MB.
3. My Power Seat Memory stayed...cool!
4. My Homelink stayed...cool!
5. My windows did not do one touch up or down...I needed to open and close them several times for the one touch to begin working again...not cool.
6. My roof did not open one touch...again, I had to open and close it several times.
I am surprised at 3, 5, and 6. I am not sure why my windows and roof did not work and I can't believe it saved the seat settings, most cars don't.
Just thought I'd pass along this info.

you have to resync the roofs and the windows again after the battery dies. Don't ask me why but it's there in the manual. As for the memory seat, I think it's stored in your keyfob.

aside from those listed above ,u will get an ESP error wen u reconnect ur battery. simply turn d steering wheel lock to lock..left to right and vice versa. your esp will b initialized after that. esp will disappear in the mfd.
also, since u guys have "warranty" u wouldnt know about this, but everytime ur battery's voltage drops.....some "errors" are stored in ur car's computer even if there are no errors at all....all caused by "undervoltage". also, when u remove/re install a battery...wen the star diagnosis computer at d dealer runs a "short test" on the car's computer, all test will result in "error codes" in all areas. the tech will then have to reset these errors via the computer.

how do you initialize the ESP? I dont quite get it. Is that from left to right (lock to lock) and right to left? I do this with the machine shut off?
If anyone could explain me more about this, I would very appreciate it.
thanks

The few times i have disconnected my battery i had no errors. Recently i just disconnected it again, and i had the ESP on the MFD, I turned the wheels lock to lock a couple times, it came off the MFD, but was still listed as a malfunction. After a day it was gone though.

some of these options are stored in the car's ECU hence they don't get reset if the battery gets disconnected while radio and windows are not ECU related, don't ask me why the seat's memory got unharmed, dunno but it's the way some cars work...
